Click on "comments" below to post your thoughts to the following:
  1. How long is this speech? How long is the negative case? What does the negative do with the rest of the time?
  2. What order should the neg. respond to the aff. arguments? Why?
  3. When is it important to number your arguments?

1.) the 1NR is seven minutes long; presenting the case comes first and only takes about half the time, so the rest is used to attack the aff case
2.) answer the aff down the flow: start with the V and C, then each argument. answering in the order presented makes it easier for the judge and the opponent to follow and know what you're responding to
3.) number arguments when you have more than one response to a particular point

-the 1nr is 7 min long. The neg case is usually 3-3.5 min long. the rest of the time is spent answering the aff case and the arguments presented by the aff.
-the neg debator should respond to the aff arguments in the order they were presented. This makes it easier for the judge to understand what you are responding to because you are going in the order your opponent did. If you do not go in order, you will be more likely to lose the round because you confused the other debator and the judge
-it is important to number your arguments when you make more than one response to a particular point. this will help the judge be able to quickly and easily write down your answers

1)*The 1NR speech is 7 minutes long.
*Neg case is about half of the speech.
*The rest of the time is used attack the aff case.
2)The neg should respond to the aff in order of how the aff presented them. So that it is easier for the judge to understand what topic you are responding to.
3)You should number your points when you have more than one responce to a certain point.

1) this speech is seven minutes long
2)The actual neg case should only be about 3 min
3)The neg answers and attacks the affermative with the remaining time
4)The neg should start with the Vand VC then answer the case in the order that it was given by the aff
5) You should number the arguments when you are making more that one point about a single argument

-It takes 7 minutes. The Negative Case should take about 3.5 mniutes and the rest of the time given is used to attack the affirmative case.
-In the same order they were presented. So as to not confuse the opponent and or judge.
-When you have multiple points to make for the same topic.

-1NR is 7 minutes long
-negative cases usually are 3-31/2 minutes in lengeth when read aloud
-the east of the time usually 3-4 minutes left of that 7 minute speech is devoted to answering arguments made by the affirmative or arguming the affirmative's case. Also they will point our falws in the connection of the vp and criterion

-The order that the neg shoud resoing to the aff's argumetns should be answered in the order that they are presented because it allows the judge to easily follow along as you are responding in the same order as your ooponent and (if they flowed) was put down on paper.

-you should start to number your arguments if you are going to make more than one response to a sepecific argument so that the judge can easliy follow along and quickly write down ur answers.
